Record numbers show up for Indiana March for Life
Indiana March for Life continues to grow!
A record number of pro-life Hoosiers attended the 3rd Annual March for Life in downtown Indianapolis yesterday. Right to Life of Indianapolis estimates between 1,000 and 1,100 marchers were on hand to be a voice for the voiceless.
The march took place at 12 noon and wound through downtown, along Meridian St, past the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, around the Statehouse and into the south lawn of the Statehouse building for a rally for life. Speakers included Bishop Timothy Doherty of the Lafayette Diocese, Pastor Mark Vroegup of College Park Church, Pastor Mike Spencer of Life Training Institute, State Representative Peggy Mayfield, State Senators Mark Messmer and Jim Thoms, Indianapolis City-County Councilman Paul Anee, Cathie Humbarger of Northeastern Indiana Right to Life and many other pro-life advocates.
This was the third year of the Annual March in Indianapolis. Right to Life of Indianapolis co-sponsored the event with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis office of Human Life and Dignity and with the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana. Each year it has continued to grow bigger, drawing students from various high schools as well as attendees from across Indiana.
Public events like this one are just one of the ways Right to Life of Indianapolis continues to promote respect for all human life.
